Established in July 2022, AKUS—formerly known as Lostworldusa and short for Art Keeps Us Sane—is a Black-owned creative brand founded by Pierre Papillon. Our mission centers on delivering meaningful, relatable messages through intentional and expressive artwork. Guided by our motto, “sanity through chaos,” we believe in the power of art as a grounding force, offering clarity and resilience as individuals navigate life’s challenges.
More About the Designer & Owner
Pierre, originally from Chicago, IL, is currently a student at Howard University. His inspiration for creating the brand stems from personal experiences and a lifelong connection to the arts. Raised in a creative family, he developed a deep passion for artistic expression in all its forms. Beyond his work as a designer, Pierre is actively involved in the fashion industry as a model and stylist. He is committed to expanding both his brand and his creative practice, with the goal of continuing to inspire and positively impact others through his work.
